Chinese tire maker Jinyu Tire Group said yesterday it has completed construction of a passenger car tire factory in Vietnam, as part of its strategy to return to the passenger car tire market.

The project, which was launched in January last year, is a plan to expand Jinyu's existing truck and bus tire manufacturing facility in Tay Ninh province, which has a production capacity of 2 million TBR (Tire Bias Radial) tires per year.

On April 15, the group "completed" the passenger car tire manufacturing unit with a production capacity of 10 million high-performance semi-steel tires per year.

The plant is expected to reach full capacity in the second half of 2026, Jinyu said in a statement.

Once the project begins full-scale production, the group will have a dual production capacity of 10 million TBR tires and 10 million PCR tires per year at its manufacturing facilities.

Described as a “milestone” project, the PCR plant marks Jinyu’s return to the passenger car tyre market after a five-year break to “focus on TBR tyre development”.

The facility houses an engineering research and development center, a testing unit and “internationally leading automated production equipment,” according to Jinyu.

The factory also uses intelligent management systems such as MES, RDM and LIMS to collect and analyze data in real time, ensuring that processes are traceable and controllable.
