Accordingly, the locality mobilized nearly 10 billion VND from businesses, Duy Xuyen people living far from home and philanthropists to support the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services, poor and near-poor households.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duy Xuyen district coordinated with associations and unions to mobilize nearly 1.26 billion VND from organizations, businesses and individuals to help eliminate temporary houses for poor and disadvantaged households.
By the end of February 2025, the district had provided funding to repair and build 154 new houses; including 84 houses for meritorious people and 70 houses for poor and near-poor households.
In addition to the support from the provincial budget according to Resolution No. 13 of the Provincial People's Council (60 million VND/newly built house and 30 million VND/repaired house), Duy Xuyen district supports an additional 40 million VND/newly built house and 10 million VND/repaired house from mobilized sources. The total budget to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district is more than 16.5 billion VND.
Duy Xuyen currently has 32 households in need of housing support, including 8 newly built houses and 24 repaired houses with a total cost of over 1.7 billion VND. The district strives to complete these 32 houses before April 2025.
