Stop implementing the policy of establishing FLC University in Quang Ninh

On May 30, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a document to stop implementing the policy of establishing FLC University in Ha Long City ( Quang Ninh ).

This document agrees with the proposal of the Minister of Education and Training in the submission No. 692 dated April 27, on canceling the document approving the policy to allow the establishment of FLC University.

Previously, FLC University was approved for establishment on June 3, 2019.

According to the establishment project, FLC University was introduced to be built on an expected scale of about 50 hectares in the wards of Ha Lam, Ha Trung, Ha Long City, with a total estimated investment capital of nearly 4,000 billion VND.

The project includes main items such as: principal and administrative area; lecture hall area; practice area; library land; dormitory...

According to the original plan, the project was divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 (2019-2021) - investing in building facilities to meet training requirements for about 2,000 students; Phase 2 (2022-2025) - continuing to invest in synchronous construction of the remaining items to reach a training scale for about 7,500 students.

At the time of the project's groundbreaking, FLC Group promoted that it would train in key majors such as high technology, tourism and aviation. The school plans to enroll its first season at the end of 2020 with an initial enrollment of 600 students, increasing to 6,100 students in 2024 and 10,000 students in 2035.

However, in contrast to the bustling groundbreaking ceremony in August 2019, this project has been "inactive" until now.
