Bài chòi is a folk game that originated a long time ago in the Central coastal region. Especially in Quang Nam, Bài chòi is very popular and is an indispensable spiritual food for working people every time Tet comes and spring comes.
Bai Choi is played in a similar way to bingo with 32 cards. For the first time, Bai Choi was brought to the people of Thanh Hoa, so Bai Choi artists of Duy Xuyen district sang for free and gave out cards so that everyone could participate.
Ms. Tran Thi Van - a Bai Choi singer in Duy Xuyen district shared: "Bai Choi is a folk game that anyone can play, especially close to the working people. Coming to Nong Cong district, although the voice and singing are a bit different from here, our performances are warmly welcomed and enjoyed by the people."

The game began when Mr. Hieu and Ms. Hieu sang a six-eight song in a Quang Nam accent. After the opening verse, Mr. Hieu began to draw a card from the bamboo tube and sing a few folk songs and rhymes related to that card, calling out the name of the card loudly for everyone to hear.
All the viewers listened excitedly, hoping that they would "come" to receive a yellow flag; everyone also let their souls follow Mr. Hieu's singing to pray for luck to come to them...
Through each card, Mr. and Mrs. Hieu introduced to the people of Nong Cong district the songs, chants, and rhymes typical of Quang Nam with familiar content, easy to listen to and understand, closely related to people's lives, making viewers interested and passionate.
Mr. Le Van Vuong - a resident of Tien Nong commune (Nong Cong district) said: "This is the first time I have participated in the Bai Choi game of Quang Nam people. The artists performed very well, the Bai Choi melodies are unique and very attractive."

The game ends when one of the players has 3 yellow flags. The organizers prepare gifts such as souvenirs from the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board and typical OCOP products of Duy Xuyen district to give to the winners after the game ends.
Although it only lasted for 2 nights, the songs and melodies of the Bai Choi art troupe of Duy Xuyen district left a deep impression on the people of Nong Cong district. According to Ms. Le Thi Nam - a resident of Nong Cong town, this was a very meaningful and touching activity about the relationship between the two localities of Duy Xuyen - Nong Cong.
Duy Xuyen District People's Committee has issued a plan to promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Bai Choi art in the district. Hopefully, in the coming time, Bai Choi will be widely promoted to all people across the country.
