Comrade Hoang Trong Quyet offered incense to commemorate the former Chairman of Viet Minh citadel Hoang Dieu Vu Oanh

On the afternoon of August 20, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), comrade Hoang Trong Quyet, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee, visited the family and offered incense to commemorate comrade Vu Oanh, former member of the Politburo , former Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, former Chairman of the Viet Minh citadel Hoang Dieu, Head of the Hanoi People's Delegation attending the National Congress in Tan Trao.

Comrade Vu Oanh (aka Vu Duy Truong, 1924-2022) was from the former Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city. He became enlightened, participated in the revolution and was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam at a very young age.

During his nearly 100 years of life and 80 years of Party membership, comrade Vu Oanh devoted himself to the revolutionary cause of the Party and nation, and to the happiness of the people.

Comrade Vu Oanh has held positions such as: Secretary of Ha Dong Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Central Military Commission Office in Viet Bac, Member of the Party Central Committee - Head of the Central Agricultural Committee - Head of the Central Economic Committee, National Assembly delegate of the 8th and 9th terms, Member of the Politburo of the 7th term, in charge of the Party's Mass Mobilization work, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly...

With his outstanding contributions, comrade Vu Oanh was awarded by the Party and State: First Class Resistance Medal, First Class Resistance Medal against America, First Class Victory Medal, First Class Feat of Arms Medal, Ho Chi Minh Medal, Gold Star Medal, and Victory Flag Medal.

On behalf of the city's leaders, comrade Hoang Trong Quyet talked with comrade Vu Oanh's family members, expressing gratitude for his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation; affirming that the Party Committee and the city's government have been and will strive to innovate, successfully complete political tasks, continue the legacy of previous generations, including comrade Vu Oanh, strive to be a pioneer in the new era, building Hanoi to be increasingly rich, civilized, modern and happy.

Ms. Vu Thi Hong Tam, daughter of comrade Vu Oanh, thanked the city for its gratitude to her family; at the same time, she expressed her belief in the development of the capital and the country in the new era, especially after the recent revolution of administrative unit arrangement and organization of the two-level local government model.
