On December 14, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Standing Committee led by Comrade Vu Dai Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, inspected the maritime border; visited and encouraged cadres and soldiers and surveyed and grasped the situation of the election of village and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term in Co To district. Accompanying the delegation were: Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

Visiting and inspecting the combat readiness work at Co To Island Battalion, Island Defense Brigade 242 and Co To Border Guard Station, comrade Vu Dai Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the achievements that officers and soldiers of the units have achieved in the past time. In addition to training and combat readiness, the units have also actively participated and made important contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality, especially the work of overcoming the consequences of the recent storm No. 3.

Emphasizing the important role and position of Co To Island - the island district at the forefront of the Fatherland, the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that combat readiness is the top priority task. He hoped that the armed forces stationed on the island would uphold the tradition of the unit as well as the pride of being stationed on the land at the head of the Fatherland, do a good job of combat readiness; overcome difficulties, raise vigilance, and be proactive in all situations to maintain stability in the security and order situation in the area, firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In response to the sentiments of the Provincial Party Secretary and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, officers and soldiers of the units promised to overcome all difficulties, unite and be creative to excellently fulfill the task of protecting the sacred border security and sovereignty of the Fatherland; actively participate in economic development, determined to build Co To to become more and more prosperous, civilized, and strong in national defense and security.

Surveying and grasping the situation of the election of village and ward chiefs for the 2025-2027 term in Co To district, the Provincial Party Secretary commended Co To district for directing the careful preparation for the election day in 13/13 villages and ward in the area. He also emphasized that this is an activity of special importance in residential areas, so the district needs to direct the villages and ward to continue to mobilize people, especially representatives of households, to ensure that they come to the election on time, in full numbers, and in a concentrated manner; organize environmental sanitation in the entire village and residential area, contributing to creating a green, clean, and beautiful neighborhood landscape, creating a vibrant atmosphere to welcome the election. At the same time, there is a plan to ensure absolute safety, security and order for the election. In addition to organizing the election well, the district also needs to direct villages and neighborhoods to organize cultural and sports activities, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in residential areas, making the election day of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs truly a festival for all people.

On the same day, the working delegation of the Provincial Standing Committee inspected the construction progress of the project to invest in completing the storm shelter area for fishing boats on Co To Island. This is a regional storm shelter area project. The total investment is 659 billion VND. To date, the project has completed over 41% of the construction volume and is expected to be completed in 2025. After completion and put into use, the project will meet the anchoring needs of 1,200 fishing boats with a capacity of up to 800CV.

Inspecting the actual implementation of the project, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that this is a project of great significance to the socio-economic development of Co To island district. He requested the project investor, Co To district and related units to study and propose additional investment plans for port infrastructure, fishing logistics area and auxiliary infrastructure systems. Thereby contributing to maximizing the investment efficiency of the project, making this area not only serve the anchoring needs of fishing boats during storms, but also become a fishing logistics area for the whole region.
