In Yen Lap district, from the resources allocated to projects under the National Target Program 1719, the locality has focused on investing in building rural infrastructure, solving urgent needs for residential land, housing, production land, domestic water, creating livelihoods, supporting vocational training, and creating jobs for ethnic minorities. From 2023 to present, the whole district has supported 70 households to build new houses, supported job conversion for 302 workers, and supported domestic water for 1,035 ethnic minority households.
In addition, Yen Lap also invested in the construction of 2 infrastructure projects to arrange and stabilize the population of My Luong and Luong Son communes, and supported the construction of 3 heritage experience tourism projects, typical tourist destinations of ethnic minorities associated with historical relics in My Lung, Xuan An, and Minh Hoa communes. The synchronous and effective implementation of projects and sub-projects from the National Target Program 1719 has clearly promoted the effectiveness in helping to improve the quality of life of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.
Up to now, the success of the National Target Program 1719 has helped the localities of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Phu Tho province change day by day. From a difficult mountainous district with 60% of the population being ethnic minorities, Thanh Son district has taken on a new look with essential infrastructure gradually being invested synchronously. Implementing Project 1 "Solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water", in 2023, the whole district focused on implementing support for housing, residential land, production land, and domestic water for 1,879 households; arranging, relocating, and stabilizing the population of Kha Cuu commune, supporting people to develop the economy with hundreds of large-scale hill and forest economic models...
Through appropriate support solutions, the lives of ethnic minorities in the district have gradually improved. By the end of 2023, the poverty rate in the district will decrease to only about 7.6%.
Implementing the National Target Program 1719, phase 2021 - 2025, Phu Tho province has been allocated more than 1,177 billion VND. Mr. Cam Ha Chung - Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Phu Tho province said that over the past 3 years, many programs and policies for ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been fully, promptly and effectively implemented. Up to now, the basic goals and targets have been achieved compared to the set plan.
Currently, 100% of communes in mountainous areas have asphalt or concrete roads to the center; 100% of villages have community houses; 99.7% of households have access to grid electricity; 96.5% of ethnic minorities have access to clean water...
To gradually accelerate the implementation of the National Target Program 1719, according to Mr. Cam Ha Chung, in the coming time, Phu Tho province will continue to mobilize all resources to focus on supporting ethnic minority areas, promoting the internal strength of the people, the combined strength of the entire political system in implementing projects and sub-projects of the Program.
In addition to support and investment from the government, the entire political system needs to engage in propaganda and mobilization to arouse the people's will to be self-reliant and rise up. Only when the people identify themselves as the main subjects, not only benefiting from the policy but also joining hands in building and implementing the policy, will the program truly be effective.
