The Thai team (ranked 114th in the world) fielded their strongest lineup, including top stars such as Chanathip Songkrasin and Supachok Sarachat, who are playing in the J-League 1 (Japan). The "War Elephants" took the lead twice, but Chen Ting-Yang managed to equalize 2-2 for the Taiwanese team in the 87th minute.

Before that, although the "War Elephants" dominated the first half, they did not create many opportunities to score and penetrate the Taiwanese team's defense. The most significant opportunity belonged to veteran striker Teerasil Dangda who almost scored in the 29th minute, but Taiwanese goalkeeper Pan Wen-chieh saved the situation.

In the second half, coach Mano Polking replaced 3 players Jakkapan Praisuwan, Sarach Yooyen and Peerapat Notchaiya, to bring in younger players to strengthen the attack such as Chalermsak Aukkee, Channarong Promsrikaew and Chatmongkol Rueangthanarot.

However, the Thai team lost their advantage. In the 48th minute, defender Kritsada Kaman awkwardly scored an own goal, helping the Taiwanese team open the score 1-0. It was not until the 62nd minute that striker Teerasil Dangda was able to equalize 1-1 for the "War Elephants". In the 83rd minute, defender Wang Ruei scored an own goal, helping the Thai team take the lead 2-1, seemingly winning the match.

However, in the final minutes of the match, Chen Ting-yang's header beat goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai (Thai team) to help the Taiwanese team tie the score 2-2 in a spectacular way. In the extra minutes, the Thai team's efforts to find a goal were unsuccessful, including a great opportunity for Chanathip Songkrasin to assist Nicholas Mickelson, but this player's shot went wide of the post.
