Math exam for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7. This year, the number of 9th grade students expected to graduate from junior high school is 113,802.

Of which, the total number of candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam is 96,325, divided into groups: candidates who only registered for 3 regular wishes are 88,237; candidates who registered for integrated wishes are 1,147; candidates who registered for specialized wishes are 6,941, of which 236 are from other provinces.

The whole city has 966 students admitted directly to grade 10, including 112 students with physical disabilities, 818 students with intellectual disabilities, the rest won national and international awards in physical education and sports.

The exam took place at 158 ​​exam sites (including 147 regular exam sites and 11 specialized exam sites) with 4,102 exam rooms (including 3,778 regular grade 10 exam rooms - 24 candidates/room, each exam site will have 3 additional backup exam rooms). The city mobilized 12,306 officials and teachers to work as exam invigilators and 2,370 employees, security guards, police officers... to work at the exam sites.

Students take the exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language. The exam time for Math and Literature is 120 minutes. The exam time for Foreign Language is 90 minutes. The admission score for grade 10 is usually = Math score + Literature score + Foreign Language score + incentive points (if any).

Candidates will be able to register for three priority wishes 1, 2, 3 for admission to grade 10 of public high schools (except Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted and High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City National University).

For 10th grade Specialized and Integrated students, they will take the Specialized and Integrated exams in the afternoon of June 7. The Specialized and Integrated exam time is 150 minutes. Admission score for 10th grade Specialized = Math score + Literature score + Foreign language score + Specialized subject score x 2 + incentive points (if any).

Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted accepts secondary school students from other provinces to take the exam if they meet the requirements. Students register for 4 wishes, of which wishes 1 and 2 are for specialized classes; wishes 3 and 4 are for non-specialized classes at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.

If students do not pass the entrance exam to specialized schools or specialized classes, they can still apply to grade 10 of high school.
