According to Sky Sports Italy , Andre Onana's move to MU is "just a matter of time". Inter Milan want to get 60 million Euros from the goalkeeper who only joined them last summer, on a free transfer.
However, the above source and the Telegraaf newspaper (Netherlands) said that MU is on the way to reaching an agreement for a fee of 55 million Euros with Inter Milan, including additional terms.
The Serie A side are already looking for a replacement for Andre Onana and are keen to offload the Cameroon international before July 13, when they begin pre-season.
MU negotiated the Onana deal following the same steps as signing Mason Mount from Chelsea, starting with a low price (knowing it would be rejected), then increasing it and finally closing on a price with goodwill from both sides.
Specifically, the initial offer from MU to buy Onana was 40 million Euros with an additional 5 million Euros. The new negotiation is said to have increased to 52 million Euros including additional fees and the figure they reached an agreement with Inter Milan is being announced as 55 million Euros.
Personal terms with Onana are not an issue as he has already agreed a deal with a contract believed to be for five years, with the possibility of a four-year deal plus the option of a 12-month extension.
Previous sources also confirmed that coach Erik ten Hag called Andre Onana, also his former student at Ajax, to ensure the deal would take place. He also made it clear to the Red Devils' leadership that he wanted the 27-year-old goalkeeper for the US tour, in which the first match takes place on July 20.
Coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Andre Onana will be MU's number one goalkeeper next season, replacing De Gea, whose footwork is limited and whose contract expires on June 30, making it unlikely that the two sides will sign a new one.
Andre Onana was outstanding in goal for Inter Milan last season, including their run to the Champions League final, playing 41 games in all competitions, conceding 36 goals.
