Reporting at the meeting, Director of Hanoi National University Le Quan said: Hanoi National University has always been a pioneer in implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate, streamline the political system's apparatus, operate effectively and efficiently, restructure the organization to 25 focal points, streamline the apparatus, and at the same time focus on developing a research-oriented university model, promoting decentralization and delegation of authority.
The school has issued the standards for scientists of Hanoi National University, built a set of development indicators associated with the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, established the Center for Technology and Innovation Training.

Previously, science and technology only accounted for 16%, but now it has increased to over 40%. In particular, health sciences have become a bright spot as students have won international awards, accounting for half of the total awards in the country.
Hanoi National University has not experienced a "brain drain" but has also attracted about 500 more PhDs, professors, and associate professors to teach and research.
According to Director of Hanoi National University Le Quan, in the coming time, Hanoi National University will continue to focus on two major orientations, which are promoting innovation based on the "three-house" cooperation model (State-University-Enterprise), increasing the number of scientists, especially focusing on the participation of the private sector in research, technology transfer and cooperation in building production plants.

The focus is on unifying human resources, promoting digital transformation in administration and management, developing information infrastructure, and shared facilities in Hoa Lac, ensuring connectivity and modernity.
At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed: Hanoi National University has a very early history of 120 years, each step of the school's development is closely linked to the history of the country, the country's education, contributing significantly to the cause of enlightening the people.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh welcomed and highly appreciated the serious and effective implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW by Hanoi National University. The university has carried out the major and difficult tasks set out in the two Resolutions very effectively and in the right direction.

In implementing Resolution No. 18, Hanoi National University has focused on streamlining and effectively arranging the apparatus and internal organizations, achieving the requirement of 30% streamlining. Not only mechanically arranging and streamlining the organization, but also implementing new models, research institutes and opening up research fields such as semiconductor chips, AI; in particular, it has begun to approach quantum technology, a field that is still in its infancy in the world but is considered the technology of the future, demonstrating the initiative of "taking shortcuts and taking the lead".
In addition, Hanoi National University has accomplished many important tasks in closely combining training tasks with practice, practice, and the labor market. This is demonstrated through the increasing number of orders from businesses for Hanoi National University, including: research products, scientific and technological research projects; orders for recruiting students after graduation, etc.

In the near future, the Politburo will issue a Resolution on national education reform, expected to be issued before the new school year with a scope of adjustment from preschool education and above. Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that Hanoi National University not neglect basic science, because in order to develop and move forward, Vietnam needs a solid foundation, in which basic science is the launching pad to reach the heights of science and technology. The fact that Hanoi National University is implementing the construction of research rooms, institutes, and new fields is in line with the Politburo's orientation on developing key fields.
Along with that, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Hanoi National University continues to focus on ensuring the quality of students' output, meeting the requirements of the labor market. Not only equipping knowledge and expertise, it is necessary to pay attention to training personality, Vietnamese culture, sense of civic responsibility and aspiration to contribute for each student. At the same time, the example of teachers must become the standard for students to follow.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that Hanoi National University, together with the whole country, will enter a new era with a favorable mindset, meeting the expectations of the Politburo, becoming one of the leading universities in the country and the region, striving to be among the top 200 universities in the world in the near future.
