Da Nang: Supporting businesses in applying AI in the semiconductor and electronics industry

On August 8, the Danang Center for Research and Training in Microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence (DSAC) in collaboration with Ascendas Systems Co., Ltd. organized a workshop on “Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry” to share the latest technology trends in the semiconductor and electronics industry.

According to DSAC Director Le Hoang Phuc, the conference aims to promote innovation, focusing on the application of AI in the design, testing and optimization of chip manufacturing processes in the semiconductor and electronics industry. At the same time, it creates opportunities for startups to access technology platforms that meet international standards; and supports the connection of businesses and experts in the high-tech field.

At the workshop, training institutions and businesses were provided with an overview of AI application trends in the semiconductor industry, solutions based on MathWorks' MATLAB and Simulink platforms. These are tools that are being trusted in high-tech fields such as automotive, aerospace and chip manufacturing. In addition, the workshop also provided instructions on how to build an image inspection system using Deep Learning, process image data and deploy AI models into practical applications.

According to Mr. Duong Quang Huy - Application Engineer at Ascendas Systems, in the semiconductor and electronics industry, AI is gradually becoming a core element of manufacturing and testing processes. AI systems help shorten testing times, detect errors early and minimize errors, thereby improving operational efficiency and saving costs. Through tools such as MATLAB and Simulink, engineers can easily develop, refine and deploy AI models in the design and manufacturing process in a seamless and flexible manner.

Mr. Alex Lo - CEO, Techsource Systems Group and Ascendas Systems further emphasized that advanced software solutions from MathWorks such as MATLAB and Simulink are powerful tools that help accelerate the design, simulation and deployment process, helping businesses shorten product development time and improve operational efficiency. Along with that, Ascendas Systems and MathWorks also have support programs for startups in Vietnam.

Mr. Le Hoang Phuc said that Da Nang is synchronously implementing many key policies and guidelines to develop the semiconductor and AI sectors, especially training and attracting high-quality human resources. The workshop is one of the efforts to provide useful information, helping businesses to quickly access international standard design tools and apply AI to the image inspection process, detect errors and optimize production.

These are solutions that bring clear practical value to the semiconductor and electronics industry as this sector enters a period of strong development, with AI playing an increasingly important role in optimizing design, testing and production lines.
