Bayern and the crisis that has no end in sight

A 2-2 draw with Freiburg in the Bundesliga last weekend widened the gap between Bayern and top-ranked Leverkusen to 10 points. Today, Bayern will have a match that is considered to decide the fate of coach Thomas Tuchel, when they must beat Lazio to keep their hopes of passing the Champions League round of 16 alive.

Bayern's board have announced that Tuchel will leave in the summer, but a poor result against Lazio could mean an early exit. Sky Sports Germany say Tuchel is certain to be in charge for the Lazio game and if Bayern reach the quarter-finals, he will stay until the end of the season. If Bayern are eliminated, Tuchel is likely to be sacked immediately.
