From March 15, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department will implement a new organizational model according to the decision of the Ministry of Finance, leading to changes in the names of many customs units in the area.

Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department has just sent instructions to import-export enterprises, customs clearance agents, postal and express delivery service providers, and warehouse and port businesses... In which, it noted that units need to update the declaration system with new changes from March 15 to ensure smooth customs clearance of goods.
According to the announcement of the Customs Department, this unit will change its name to Customs Branch Region II , along with a series of name changes at its affiliated branches.
In which, the High-Tech Customs Branch and the High-Tech Park Customs will merge into the Investment Goods Management Customs. The Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone Customs Branch and the Processing Goods Management Customs Branch will change their names to Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone Customs.
Hiep Phuoc Port Customs Branch changed to Saigon Port Customs Branch, Region 2 , Express Customs Branch changed to Express Customs Branch , and Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch changed to Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch ...
The Customs Department also requested businesses to update the new customs unit name on the declaration software and data connection system from March 15. The list of standard declaration codes will also be adjusted at some locations for procedures, with detailed information updated on the Vietnam Customs Portal.
To implement the new model, the customs declaration system will be temporarily suspended from 11pm on March 140 to 5am on March 15 for updating.
Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department recommends that businesses monitor information and contact the Information Technology and Customs Statistics Department for timely support during the system adjustment process.
Previously, to promptly answer questions related to operations during the process of restructuring the unit's organizational structure, the Customs Branch of Region II established a Question and Answer Team consisting of 20 members.
The Q&A team is headed by a deputy head of the Customs Sub-Department of Region II and consists of 9 members who are leaders of the staff units of this Sub-Department. In addition, there is a support team consisting of 10 members who are civil servants of the unit's staff units.
According to the Customs Department (formerly the General Department of Customs), the conversion of the customs organization model aims to improve management efficiency, facilitate import and export activities and is consistent with the administrative reform orientation of the Vietnam customs sector.
