Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (HAGL, stock code: HAG), chaired by Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Bau Duc), continues to report on the payment of principal and interest of the HAGLBOND16.26 bond lot, of which BIDV is the bondholder.

Specifically, on December 29, Hoang Anh Gia Lai announced that it had paid VND206 billion - a portion of the principal debt of this bond lot. After payment, the total principal debt of this corporate bond is VND1,590 billion.

The reason for not paying the remaining amount was given by Mr. Duc's company because he had not collected enough money from the debt of Hoang Anh Gia Lai International Agricultural Joint Stock Company - HAGL Agrico (stock code: HNG, currently has a 3-party debt repayment schedule agreed upon) and had not been able to liquidate some of the company's unprofitable assets.

On December 30, Mr. Duc's company announced that it had just paid an additional 824 billion VND in principal debt, reducing the principal debt to 766 billion VND.

Notably, the reason for not paying the remaining amount no longer mentioned HAGL Agrico's debt as on December 29, but said that some of the company's unprofitable assets had not been liquidated.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai expects the remaining payment to be in the second quarter of 2025. Thus, in just 2 days, Mr. Duc's company has paid off more than 1,000 billion VND in bonds.

Also related to Mr. Duc's company, recently, the Gia Lai Provincial Tax Department has imposed fines, collected and overpaid taxes with a total amount of 974 million VND. The reason is that the company has made false declarations leading to a lack of value added tax in 2023, a lack of personal income tax in 2022 and 2023, and a lack of land rent in 2022 and 2023 that must be paid...

Regarding business performance, in the first 9 months of 2024, Hoang Anh Gia Lai recorded revenue of VND 4,193 billion, down 16.7% over the same period. However, thanks to cost reduction, after deduction, profit after tax reached VND 851 billion, up 19.9% ​​over the same period last year.

On the stock market, HAG has been fluctuating at 12,000 - 13,000 VND/share over the past month, only slightly increasing by nearly 0.5% compared to the beginning of December but decreasing by more than 9% compared to the beginning of 2024.
