Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai delivered the opening speech at the conference.

According to the city's leaders, industrial transformation is not only an option but also an urgent requirement for the city and urban areas around the world .

Faced with the dual pressures of maintaining economic growth while meeting environmental standards, increasingly stringent social responsibilities force innovation and adaptation. The city’s industrial transformation journey is driven by both internal drivers and global trends.

The city has adopted a dual strategy, combining green transformation and digital transformation. At the same time, it focuses on developing high-tech industries, investing in automation, smart factories and advanced manufacturing technology, to upgrade the value chain.

Mr. Mai said that according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), industrial transformation has become a global trend, with investment in high technology and digital expected to reach about 1.5 trillion USD by 2030.

McKinsey & Company data shows that about 70% of multinational companies have committed to cutting at least 25% of their carbon emissions by 2030. New generation free trade agreements, such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans -Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), set higher standards, linking trade with sustainable development.
