Continuing the 42nd Session on February 7, under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the National Assembly's petition work in January 2025.

Reporting at the meeting, Head of the People's Petition Committee Duong Thanh Binh stated that on the occasion Lunar New Year At Ty Recently, voters and people across the country had a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Tet holiday.

Voters and people are interested in the 13th Party Central Committee Conference discussing and giving opinions on 5 contents, including 2 groups of issues that voters are particularly interested in: Summarizing Resolution 18 of the Central Committee on innovation, reorganizing the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient; Project to supplement the GDP growth target of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the period 2026-2030.

Voters and people highly appreciate the sense of responsibility of the traffic police force in ensuring traffic safety and order. The functional forces have worked throughout Tet and through the night, thanks to which the rate of traffic accidents and the number of violations of alcohol concentration regulations during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025 decreased compared to the same period last year. However, there are still some road traffic accidents with particularly serious consequences that need to be addressed by the authorities in the coming time.

In addition, voters and people are very interested in the official visit to Vietnam by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and the foreign affairs activities of Party and State leaders and believe that these diplomatic activities will open up many cooperation opportunities, contribute to the country's economic development and continue to affirm Vietnam's position and role in the international arena.

According to Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, voters and people continue to worry about food poisoning; unsafe labor conditions still occur; some forest fires and house fires causing great damage to property; the epidemic situation during and after Tet; safety issues when organizing traditional spring festivals and festivals in localities...

The situation of complaints and denunciations in January 2025 tends to increase compared to December 2024, related to: the land sector, especially compensation, support and resettlement when the State acquires land; the fields of natural resources, environment and labor-employment continue to have complicated developments; in which, 8 complaints and denunciations have emerged with signs of complications regarding security and order that need to be considered and resolved by competent authorities in the coming time...

Strengthening propaganda to clearly see the nature of cybercrime

Speaking at the meeting, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the contents mentioned in the January 2025 People's Petition Work Report. The opinions emphasized that the supervision activities on early enrollment implementation of a number of educational institutions; through the supervision of the Committee for Culture and Education and the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, showed positive changes.

Some delegates appreciated the Ministry of Public Security for dismantling many networks. Internet fraud in many localities across the country; at the same time, propose to publicize fraudulent tricks so that people can be vigilant and proactive in preventing them.

Providing more information about the situation of cybercrime that has occurred and tended to increase in recent times, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To affirmed that this is a difficult situation, of a global nature. Cybercrime uses high technology, diverse tricks, and has internal and external collusion (both domestically and internationally)...

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security has implemented prevention measures using professional measures, but it also requires preventive measures from the entire society and political system.

In his concluding remarks, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong affirmed that the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed with the Report on the People's Aspirations Work in January 2025; highly appreciated the efforts of the People's Aspirations Committee in closely coordinating with agencies to implement the National Assembly's people's aspiration work in an increasingly orderly manner.

The National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education has coordinated with relevant agencies to monitor enrollment activities, which has shown many positive changes, but it is also necessary to continue research to ensure publicity and transparency. Implement the Circular of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning; continue to gather public opinion to make adjustments and avoid negative incidents.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also highly appreciated the organization of a peak period of crime suppression, dismantling many criminal rings in cyberspace, ensuring political security, social order and safety, and traffic safety. The Ministry of Public Security needs to publicly study online fraud methods and widely disseminate information to the public about the harmful effects so that people can proactively prevent them. Central and local agencies should increase propaganda to clearly see the nature of cybercrime, because this is a high-tech crime with complex methods.
