In the context of Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grains Initiative, the Global Food Security Summit was held at the proposal of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The conference was attended by representatives from 20 countries, including Somalia, UAE, Brazil, Pakistan, Yemen, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Indonesia... and international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO) of the United Nations.

At the event, delegates discussed four topics: developing new approaches to prevent child mortality; exploiting science and technology to ensure food security; forecasting and preventing hunger and food security crises; and building sustainable and climate-resilient food systems.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that in the context of the world facing many threats, serious competition and strategic conflicts, the international community needs to address the causes of food insecurity, build a flexible food system, and take action to prevent food crises and malnutrition.
