Thanh Hoa police work overnight to evacuate people to prepare for storm number 5

Ngoc Son ward police went to each house to help the elderly find shelter from the storm.

In Nam Sam Son ward, the ward police force coordinated with relevant departments to check single-parent households and households with dilapidated or damaged houses and resolutely requested them to move to safe places, relatives' houses or to concentrated accommodation according to the arrangement plan of the local government. On the night of August 24, Nam Sam Son ward police relocated 17 households, with a total of 78 people on the seashore of Thanh Minh neighborhood to temporary accommodation with households who are relatives of families with safer accommodation.

At the evacuation points, the ward police have ensured all the essential living conditions for the people at the evacuation sites, absolutely not letting people go hungry or cold.

In Ngoc Son ward, on the morning of August 25, the evacuation of households along the sea dike in Bac Chau quarter to a safe area was basically completed. According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Ngoc Anh, Chief of the ward police, in Ngoc Son ward, there are currently 68 households with 204 people from Bac Chau and Yen Chau residential groups that have been relocated to a safe area by the ward police and related forces. In addition, the evacuation of people's assets is also being carried out in parallel to ensure security and order when the storm makes landfall.

Around noon, on the afternoon of August 25, the storm made landfall from Thanh Hoa - northern Quang Binh (the storm's center was in Nghe An - Ha Tinh). The Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the police of coastal communes and wards in southern Thanh Hoa to continue to review and urgently organize the evacuation of people in unsafe houses; in low-lying areas at river mouths and coastal areas at risk of flooding when the storm makes landfall to safe places. Ensure logistics, necessities and accommodation conditions for people at evacuation sites; do not let people return home until the storm has passed.
