This case was recorded at Cao Bang Provincial Police. Specifically, on the morning of June 17, Mr. VQ, an officer of Cao Bang Provincial Police, was on duty when he received a call from a strange number 0917463494 claiming to be an officer of the reception and processing department of Hanoi City Police and informing him that Mr. Q's ID number was used to register a phone number of Mobifone network in Hanoi.

This "fake police" threatened Mr. Q. that the phone number under his name had made many calls to sell medical equipment and supplies, then asked many people to transfer money and appropriate it, then transferred the phone so that Mr. Q. could talk to another "fake police" who was the "officer handling the case".

After transferring the phone, another person claiming to be an officer from the Hanoi City Police Department asked Mr. Q. to go to the Hanoi City Police Department to report the case. If he could not come, he would add him on the social network Zalo to make a video call to verify.

Then a Zalo account named "Le Hai Son" added him as a friend and made a video call. Seeing Mr. Q. in uniform, he was startled and exclaimed, "I was about to scam him but then I met the real police."

During the conversation, "Le Hai Son" said he was being held in Myanmar and forced to take medicine and be electrocuted every day if he did not complete the target of calling Vietnam to commit fraud, so he could not remember his address in Vietnam, then hung up.

This type of fraud is not new, however, Cao Bang Provincial Police advise people to be more vigilant against fake police calls to get videos for the purpose of fraud and property appropriation.
