At the CMC Creative Space Complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Chairman of CMC Corporation Nguyen Trung Chinh met with leaders of Nvidia Corporation to strengthen comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two businesses.

During the working session, CMC's leadership representative introduced the infrastructure of CMC Data Center Tan Thuan (HCMC), the ability to cooperate in technology transfer and develop artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Vietnam; as well as the cooperation capacity and the ability to become a comprehensive partner of Nvidia to provide digital infrastructure for Nvidia's AI Factories, Cloud Partners, Service Delivery Partners for the domestic and international enterprise market. Sharing in the working session with Nvidia's senior leaders, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh said: "Artificial intelligence will create a new era, the AI ​​era that has a widespread impact on human society in all aspects of life, economy, and society. AI is becoming an indispensable part of CMC's business plan and development strategy, especially the expected human resources by 2028 will be 15,000 IT engineers, of which 6,000 are AI engineers, accounting for 40% of the entire corporation's human resources".

Recently, CMC has led the cloud computing market with the CMC Cloud Make in Vietnam platform. CMC Cloud is the first domestic Cloud to provide high-performance computing services on the NVIDIA GPU chipset platform since 2017. In early 2024, CMC announced its plan to invest in 1,000 Nvidia GH 200 GPUs worth 250 million USD in the period of 2024 - 2025, contributing to the strong development of advanced applications and solutions, focusing on the ecosystem of interactive technology products in 6 main areas, including: Chip design, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big data, Social data, Internet of Things - Smart devices - Image processing (IoT) and Blockchain technology/Information security (Blockchain)... Mr. Keith Strier - Vice President of Nvidia Corporation, Vice President of Global AI Initiatives, highly appreciated CMC's vision and strategy in taking advantage of the growing AI wave to develop with the world, and expressed his willingness to be a partner with CMC. Assessing that Vietnam has all the elements to develop strongly as well as master artificial intelligence, Mr. Keith Strier emphasized: "Nvidia does not focus on business but on development cooperation, so it will accompany Vietnamese enterprises, including CMC, with the goal of accelerating digital transformation, bringing Ho Chi Minh City into the top 5 leading AI cities in the world and Vietnam to become an AI powerhouse". In the coming time, CMC plans to invest in expanding AI DC in Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park with a large scale of 40 MW, ensuring the readiness of AI Cloud infrastructure as well as private Cloud infrastructure for each customer, thereby helping the AI ​​community have infrastructure and application development environment. Regarding human resource training solutions, CMC is committed to working with Nvidia to build an AI community including: research, startups, AI human resource development to convert 1 million programmers capable of applying AI to create new values, of which Ho Chi Minh City accounts for more than 65% of human resources. The head of CMC said that CMC University is determined to focus on many factors: teaching staff, equipment system, modern training methods with curriculum suitable for AI technology laboratories, semiconductor chips... to attract good students to participate in the fields of training and research in AI, Big Data, Blockchain... It is known that CMC University has the orientation to expand the enrollment scale from 15,000 - 20,000 students by 2033, of which 50% are in Information Technology and plans to introduce Nvidia's training program into teaching in the departments of artificial intelligence (AI), microchip design (IC Design) to develop high-tech human resources, contributing to realizing the Government's target of 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.
