Ho Chi Minh City Police Club brings in foreign striker to help Tien Linh

On the afternoon of August 14, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club announced a new contract - striker Mbo Noel (British and Congolese nationality) to compete in V-League 2025 - 2026.

In the temporary registration submitted to the tournament organizers earlier this month, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club only registered two domestic strikers, Nguyen Tien Linh and Bui Van Binh, while waiting for additional foreign strikers.

And after a trial period, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club agreed to sign a contract with Mbo Noel - a striker who grew up at Gillingham (England) and played for Helsingborg (Sweden) from 2019 to 2021.

Mbo Noel plays for Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club in V-League 2024 - 2025, scoring 4 goals and having 3 assists in 22 appearances. This is not a bad achievement considering that this 26-year-old striker has just arrived in Vietnam and is not yet familiar with the new environment.

Currently, Mbo Noel is highly appreciated by coach Le Huynh Duc. Because in addition to his ability to play aggressively, this 1m85 tall striker can also shoot well and head powerfully to score goals.

Like last season, Mbo Noel scored a header in two matches against The Cong - Viettel Club, and scored a shot in the matches against Hanoi Club and Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

With his favorite cross-header style of play, Coach Le Huynh Duc needs a striker who can head well in the penalty area to score goals. And Mbo Noel is exactly the piece that the once-famous striker of Vietnamese football needs for his team.

In addition, Mbo Noel can also support Tien Linh, helping Ho Chi Minh City Police Club have more attacking options to win.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club only has 3/4 foreign players, including center back Matheus Felipe (Brazil), midfielder Endrick Santos (Brazil and Malaysia) and striker Mbo Noel for the opening match of V-League 2025 - 2026 against the reigning runner-up Hanoi on August 16 at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Coach Le Huynh Duc is still actively selecting the remaining foreign players to supplement the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club before the first round of transfer market closes at the end of September 14.
