In the past, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan was appointed by AFC as Head of Football Operations at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and a member of the Executive Committee of the 2024 Asian Cup Finals in Qatar.
With prestige and experience in running important Asian tournaments, once again, the head of VFF was trusted by AFC to take on a major responsibility at the 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals.
This also affirms that VFF in general and Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan personally have created a position in AFC's prestigious activities.
This is really good news for Vietnamese football, when a representative is assigned an important responsibility at the 2024 U23 Asian Cup finals. This will certainly create a good mentality for U23 Vietnam before entering the tournament.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan is currently Chairman of the AFC Competition Committee for the 2023-2027 term; Member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term; Chairman of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Competition Committee for the 2022-2026 term and Member of the AFF Finance Committee.
Tonight (April 15, local time), the final round of the AFC U23 Championship will open at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium (Qatar). This is also the venue for the final match of this event on the evening of May 3.
The 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals will feature 16 teams and matches will take place at four stadiums: Khalifa International, Al Janoub, Abdullah Bin Khalifa, and Jassim Bin Hamad.
The top three teams will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, with the fourth-placed team set to face Guinea U23s in a play-off on May 9 for the final men's football ticket to this year's Olympics in France.
Vietnam U23 is in Group D with Uzbekistan U23, Kuwait U23 and Malaysia U23. According to the schedule, Vietnam U23 will play its first match against Kuwait U23 on April 17, Malaysia U23 on April 20 and Uzbekistan U23 on April 23.
