According to a VNA reporter in Japan, within the framework of an official visit to Japan, on December 6, in Tokyo, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Chairman of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (CDPJ) Noda Yoshihiko.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated the CDPJ on its great victory in the Japanese House of Representatives election in October; he said that in recent times, the Vietnam-Japan relationship has had positive developments with the two countries upgrading their relationship to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World” in 2023.

The National Assembly Chairman was pleased to see that the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan has taken a new step forward with the two parties signing a cooperation agreement in 2023.

Chairman of the Constitutional Democratic Party Noda Yoshihiko welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to visit Japan; affirmed that in his position, he will promote cooperation between the two parties in accordance with the spirit of the signed cooperation agreement.

CDPJ President Noda Yoshihiko said that during his tenure as Prime Minister of Japan in 2011-2012, he had three meetings with the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

At that time, Mr. Noda commented that Vietnam's population structure was in a perfect phase with a majority of young workers and a low proportion of elderly people.

Meanwhile, Japan's population structure is the opposite, with a high proportion of elderly people and a low proportion of people of working age.

CDPJ President Noda Yoshihiko believes that with these characteristics, the two countries can cooperate to create a perfect model that complements and supports each other.

Chairman Noda Yoshihiko said that Japan has advantages in technology and engineering and can support Vietnam in implementing large-scale projects and programs.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked CDPJ Chairman Noda Yoshihiko for his affection for the country and people of Vietnam during his tenure as Prime Minister of Japan 12 years ago.

Emphasizing that the Constitutional Democratic Party is a prestigious party in the Japanese House of Representatives, the National Assembly Chairman believes that with the prestige of the CDPJ and Chairman Noda Yoshihiko, they will continue to promote relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Japanese Parliament in the coming time.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that Japan is currently the largest ODA provider to Vietnam and expressed his hope that President Noda will mobilize new-generation ODA sources for Vietnam to implement projects to build Vietnam's infrastructure.

Pointing out that the potential and advantages of the two countries are still very large, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that in the coming time, the two countries need to strengthen cooperation in all fields, commensurate with the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The National Assembly Chairman said that at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, the Vietnamese National Assembly passed and commented on many important draft laws related to investment and business activities and is gradually perfecting a favorable legal corridor, improving the investment environment, helping foreign enterprises, including Japanese enterprises, to increase stable and long-term investment in Vietnam.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman asked CDPJ and President Noda to continue supporting and creating conditions for the Vietnamese community to reside, study, do business and live long-term in Japan./.
