On the afternoon of January 6, at the Government headquarters, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Prime Minister, worked with key officials of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to implement the orientations and directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on building and developing the Academy worthy of its position, role, functions, tasks, assigned powers and glorious history and tradition.

Attending the meeting were comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; comrades of the Party Central Committee: Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Pham Thi Thanh Tra; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Hoang Dang Quang; Deputy Head of the Central Party Office Lam Thi Phuong Thanh; leaders of ministries, branches and central agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that over the past time, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics has inherited and enhanced its glorious history and tradition, comprehensively fulfilled the tasks assigned by the Party and the State, and made many important contributions to the cause of building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, including making strategic breakthroughs in human resources. The Academy has made many innovations in performing its assigned functions, tasks, and powers, achieving many specific results in training, scientific research, international cooperation, policy consulting, and coordination with agencies in the political system and local Party committees.

In order for the Academy to better fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and State in 2024 and the following years, the Prime Minister requested the Academy to closely follow the policies, orientations and directions of the Party and State, Decision No. 145-QD/TW dated August 8, 2018 of the Politburo on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Academy, and continue to strongly and comprehensively innovate all aspects of its activities to excellently fulfill its tasks.

Proactively and synchronously deploy breakthroughs in all aspects of work in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of the 13th Central Conferences. Promote training activities, scientific research, policy consultation, international cooperation, etc., create new emulation movements, new marks, new spirit, new motivation for new victories.

The Prime Minister requested that the leaders and staff of the Academy must have high political determination, constantly strive to affirm its identity and position as the leading national center in training and fostering middle and senior leaders and managers for the Party and State with the motto "students are the center, lecturers are the driving force, schools are the foundation", in the spirit of closely following reality, respecting reality, starting from reality, taking reality as a measure; resolutely overcoming the disease of laziness and fear of studying political theory.

Along with that, continue to affirm the Academy as a national center for research on political theory, summarizing practices, developing theories, and providing policy advice to the Party and State.

The Prime Minister also proposed to consolidate and develop human resources of the Academy system; promote training and fostering to improve the quality of the Academy's teaching staff and scientific staff, in conjunction with further promoting the implementation of Decision No. 587/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on improving the capacity of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and political schools of provinces and centrally run cities in the period 2019 - 2030.

The Prime Minister noted the need to set an example in taking care of Party building work within the Academy system, making the Academy Party Committee, first of all the Standing Committee and the Academy's leadership, truly united, clean, strong, with high leadership capacity and fighting spirit; preventing and combating corruption, negativity, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization.

Cadres and Party members of the Academy must be exemplary in training and always be a team that the Party and people absolutely trust in terms of politics, ideology, revolutionary ethics, lifestyle and style.

Along with that, modernize the material and technical facilities associated with the practice of Party School culture. Further promote the role of the Academy in management and professional guidance for the provincial political school system across the country.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Government always supports and accompanies the Academy in a proactive and positive spirit; including coordinating well the organization of the 75th anniversary of the Academy's founding in 2024 in accordance with the situation, thereby affirming the maturity and growth of the Academy and summarizing and promoting achievements and experiences, continuing to build the Academy worthy of its position, role, functions, tasks, assigned powers and glorious history and traditions.

Regarding the Academy's recommendations, the Prime Minister basically agreed in principle and said that he would establish a Working Group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, with the participation of leaders of ministries and branches, to work with the Academy and relevant agencies to review and propose to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
