At around 11am the same day, people discovered fire and smoke rising from a scrap iron trading shed, formwork and scaffolding rental area near Me Tri overpass (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi).
Immediately after discovering the incident, local residents reported the incident to the authorities and tried to put out the fire. However, because the area contained many flammable objects, the fire flared up and spread widely.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force of Nam Tu Liem District Police and Hanoi City Police mobilized many officers, soldiers and vehicles to the scene to put out the fire.
By 12:00, the authorities had extinguished the fire. According to a reporter's source, the initial determination was that the fire did not cause any human casualties.

At the scene, the fire burned many items inside, the roof of the shack collapsed. The area of the fire was about 200 square meters.
Authorities have blocked off the area and are investigating the cause of the fire.
