According to initial information, at 5:00 p.m. on February 17, people saw a fire at the entertainment area located in the District 12 Cultural and Sports Center, Nguyen Thi Dang Street (Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, District 12).

Many people nearby quickly used mini fire extinguishers and pulled water hoses to help put out the fire. At the same time, they took the children playing in the yard away from the fire area.

The fire then spread. Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of District 12 Police dispatched many fire trucks and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene.

Firefighters attacked the fire from multiple directions. The fire was brought under control shortly thereafter.

The fire caused no casualties, but caused many people, especially children playing inside the District 12 Cultural and Sports Center, to panic and flee.

According to local residents, the fire broke out in the ball pit area, which was closed due to the Tet holiday in this entertainment area. The cause and damage caused by the fire at the entertainment area located in the District 12 Cultural and Sports Center are currently being investigated by the authorities.
