Can Tho: Number of crimes against social order decreased by 13.6%

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Van Lau acknowledged and commended the efforts and struggles of the City Police in the first 6 months of 2025 and the first days of operating under the new organizational model.

Specifically, the Can Tho City Police force has proactively grasped the situation, promptly advised the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee on ensuring security and order, avoiding being passive and surprised, not allowing "hot spots" of security and order to arise; absolutely protecting the safety of important political , economic, cultural and social events in the city, especially in the process of arranging, merging and operating the two-level local government.

Can Tho City Police have effectively implemented preventive measures and combated all types of crimes; the number of crimes against social order decreased by 13.66%; the rate of investigation and solving cases exceeded the assigned target; violations of economic , environmental and social evil laws were detected and handled promptly; many major cases of public concern were discovered and handled quickly.

The work of ensuring traffic order and safety, fire prevention and fighting has been strengthened. As a result, traffic accidents have decreased in 2 criteria (the number of cases decreased by 7.2% and the number of injured people decreased by 15.1%); the number of fires decreased by 7 cases, a decrease of 41.2%.
