On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, Mr. Mourad Lamoudi sent warm congratulations from the FLN General Secretary to the Communist Party and people of Vietnam, affirming that the FLN always values and wishes to expand the traditional friendship with Vietnam.

Speaking to VNA reporters, he highly appreciated Vietnam's great achievements since reunification, especially in the renovation period. Under the creative leadership of the Communist Party and the consensus of the people, Vietnam has achieved miraculous development in many fields, from industry, agriculture to urbanization.

His visit to Ho Chi Minh City in April 2025 left him with a strong impression of its dynamism and modernity, considering it a vivid demonstration of Vietnam's correct policies.

Speaking about bilateral relations, he recalled the tradition of friendship formed from the flames of revolution: from the Democratic Republic of Vietnam's early recognition of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Algeria (1958), the visit of the FLN football team in 1959, to the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1962 - milestones that laid the foundation for the brotherhood between the two nations. Currently, the two Parties are promoting cooperation documents to deepen and strengthen the relationship.

He affirmed: "Vietnam's victory is also the victory of Algeria and of progressive, freedom-loving peoples in the world. From a personal perspective, our generation is honored to live in the era of great men like President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap.

The Dien Bien Phu victory and the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US will forever be the common pride of the nations fighting for independence and freedom."

Mr. Pedro de Oliveira, Secretary General of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association:

VNA quoted historian Pedro de Oliveira as saying that the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945 was not only a major historical milestone for the Vietnamese people, but also a signal to the world about the rise of the national liberation movement. He affirmed that the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance, along with the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam People's Army and leaders such as President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap, decided Vietnam's victory, along with the widespread support of international friends. "In Brazil, we also contributed to that history of solidarity with strong student movements speaking up for peace and ending the war in Vietnam," he reiterated.

Regarding the Doi Moi process, he assessed the 6th Congress in 1986 as a major turning point, helping Vietnam build a socialist-oriented market economy model, despite sieges and embargoes. Today's achievements, according to him, are a living testament to the mettle, intelligence and ability to rise from the ashes of war to assert its international position.

Professor Andrey Vassoevych - Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at Herzen State Pedagogical University (Russia):

The Declaration of Independence is the "ideological weapon" President Ho Chi Minh gave to the nation.

Speaking to VNA reporters, Professor Andrey Vassoevych said: Over the past 80 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has always made the right choices to develop the country through the periods and not let external interests lead the interests of the nation. He emphasized the foresight of President Ho Chi Minh when he chose the moment when Japan surrendered to fascism to declare independence, and at the same time drafted the Declaration of Independence as an "ideological weapon" for the nation in the struggle against future enemies.

Regarding the Doi Moi policy, he believes that this is a response to the great changes at that time. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Vietnam resolutely stood up on its own two feet. Unlike the reform in the Soviet Union, the Doi Moi policy in Vietnam has brought the country to develop very strongly, becoming a respectable economy not only in the region but also in the world. He believes that pillars such as science and technology, institutional reform, private economic development and international integration will help Vietnam take off in the new era.

Professor, Dr. Phan Kim Nga, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences:

Vietnam "innovates without changing color, integrates without dissolving"

Nhan Dan Newspaper quoted Professor, Dr. Phan Kim Nga as saying that the Vietnamese revolution has proven that in colonial and semi-feudal countries, proletarian parties can transition to socialism through "national democratic revolution", instead of mechanically copying the theory of the "complete development of capitalism" stage. This theoretical breakthrough opens up the possibility of a "non-capitalist development path" for Asian, African and Latin American countries.

In practice, Vietnam's renovation, integration and socialist modernization process have provided a successful model for developing countries around the world to refer to. The renovation policy initiated in 1986 is essentially a continuation of the spirit of the August Revolution in a new era. By establishing a "socialist-oriented market economy", the Communist Party of Vietnam has applied market mechanisms while maintaining the leading role of public ownership.

By 2024, Vietnam's GDP will reach 476.3 billion USD, per capita income will exceed 4,700 USD, and the poverty rate will decrease to 1.93%. She affirmed: Amidst unprecedented global changes in a century, Vietnam has persisted in its unique development path of "innovation without change of color, integration without dissolution", without abandoning the essence of socialism, while actively participating in international cooperation and promoting multilateralism in the new era. This has brought a "Vietnamese solution" to the modernization of developing countries around the world and provided a new answer to the modernization problem for human civilization.

Looking back 80 years, she said that the August Revolution and the Declaration of Independence are still "the torch that awakens Southeast Asia", "a milestone of innovation in the socialist movement" and the spiritual foundation for the Vietnamese people to enter an era of self-improvement, aiming to become a developed country with a socialist orientation by the middle of the 21st century.
