Dr. Tran Khac Thac, Head of Training Department - Thuy Loi University, said that, following the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi City, based on the actual situation of the localities after storm No. 3, the school has issued a notice to adjust the schedule of citizen activities - students at the beginning of the K66 regular university course. Accordingly, the schedule of the faculties meeting with first-year students from June 13 to June 15 is postponed until further notice. The extracurricular schedule on September 12 and 13 is also postponed until further notice.
For other courses, the theoretical classes from September 12 to September 15 will also be transferred online. Practical classes at the facility, laboratory, and physical education will be postponed until September 15.
Dr. Tran Khac Thac said that the school also conducted an online survey of students in areas heavily affected by storm No. 3 to come up with a support plan.
“According to preliminary statistics, the school has about 50 students whose families live in areas severely affected by storm No. 3. Most of them are students from the northern mountainous region and some from Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces…”, said Dr. Tran Khac Thac.
A representative of Hanoi National University of Education said that the school is implementing practical measures to support students in areas severely affected by the recent storms and floods. In the immediate future, the entire school will switch to online learning until September 15. Currently, the Youth Union and Student Association, and the Faculties are reviewing the list of students to support them from the school's fund for students in difficult areas.
A representative of Hanoi University of Science and Technology informed that about 100 students shared information with the school about being affected by the storm, they asked for support with necessities, temporary accommodation, laptops... The Student Affairs Committee and the Youth Union of the school contacted each student to provide support, arrange accommodation in the dormitory, send food, drinks, and lend laptops.
In addition, for students whose families were severely affected by the storm, the school has also guided them to register for the Tran Dai Nghia scholarship. With this scholarship, students will have two levels of benefits: 50% and 100% of tuition fees each semester.
