The 2025 AFC U17 qualifiers have 42 teams divided into 10 groups to compete, including 1 group of 3 teams, 6 groups of 4 teams and 3 groups of 5 teams. The groups of 5 teams have been competing since October 19. Groups of 3 and 4 teams started on October 23. The group of U17 Vietnam has 4 teams including Yemen, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar, so the competition will start on October 23 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).

Today, October 22, the press conference before the matches took place. Sharing in this press conference, the coaches of the Yemen, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar teams all affirmed their determination to create difficult matches for U17 Vietnam.

Myanmar U17 coach Aung Zaw Myo said: We have training sessions in Qatar, hoping to have good results for this tournament. At the U16 Southeast Asian tournament, the team was led by a Japanese coach, I played the role of assistant. The squad at that time was mainly students, there was little time to assemble the squad, leading to poor results. Since then, we have made changes in the system, tactics and personnel situation to aim for the best results in the U17 Asian qualifiers. I know that Vietnam U17 has had training sessions abroad and has prepared well for the tournament. I was impressed with their 1-0 victory over Japan at the Peace Cup".

Coach of U17 Kyrgyzstan - Igor Nikitin shared: Before the tournament, we had 2 training sessions in Thailand and Vietnam to adapt to the climate and weather conditions. We will have the best concentration for this tournament. Football in Kyrgyzstan is very developed, so the players have the opportunity to watch the national team compete. With each victory of the team, it is the motivation for young players to strive, make efforts in the future and set the goal of wearing the national team jersey. Hopefully, U17 Kyrgyzstan will play well in this tournament as a springboard in the future.

U17 Vietnam is the host, has a big advantage not only in terms of field conditions, spectators, however, Kyrgyzstan respects all opponents in this group, we will be determined to get the best results. The results of the U17 youth are unpredictable, there are many factors affecting such as psychology, external conditions, so we will try our best in the tournament.

Yemen U17 coach Samer Mohammed Fadhi Saleh commented: "We have had long training and preparation sessions in Oman and Jordan, and had friendly matches there. We hope to have a good performance for this tournament.

The difficulty was the travel to Vietnam. We had come a long way and arrived in Vietnam 3 days in advance to have time to prepare for the tournament.

Yeman will try our best to qualify for the finals. We have prepared tactically and mentally to get through the tournament. We respect all opponents in this group. All 4 teams are of equal level and there are very small differences. The results will be shown on the field. I wish all 4 teams good luck in the upcoming matches."

According to the 2025 U17 Asian qualifying round schedule, U17 Vietnam will meet U17 Kyrgyzstan (October 23), U17 Myanmar (October 25) and U17 Yemen (October 27).
