Recently, the noisy dispute related to the inheritance of Meritorious Artist Vu Linh has attracted public attention. On January 7, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City opened the first instance trial of the inheritance dispute; requesting the cancellation of a specific decision and requesting a house for temporary residence related to the inheritance of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan (aka the late artist Vu Linh), between the plaintiff, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung (Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's younger sister) and the defendant, Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan (Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's daughter).

C02 transferred the complaint of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh's sister to Ho Chi Minh City Police.

As a result, the panel decided that Ms. Hong Nhung was divided 15% of the legacy of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, the remaining 85% is owned by Hong Loan. The legacy includes: land and house at 5 Doan Thi Diem, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City; 3,007 m2 of land in Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) and a car.

After the enforcement agency has the results of the property valuation and the voluntary enforcement period, Hong Loan is obliged to refund Ms. Hong Nhung 15% of the value of the inheritance. Once the obligation to refund has been completed, Ms. Loan has the right to register the transfer of ownership and use of the above-mentioned assets, as well as request Ms. Hong Nhung and her children to move all personal assets out of house number 5 Doan Thi Diem. After the prescribed period, if Ms. Loan fails to fulfill her obligation, the enforcement agency will auction the above-mentioned assets.

The daughter of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh appeals the property dispute case

On January 17, Hong Loan and her lawyer went to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court to file a partial appeal against the first instance verdict. According to the appeal, Hong Loan did not accept the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court's decision that Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung was entitled to 15% of the total value of the late artist's estate. Hong Loan filed a petition requesting the High People's Court in Ho Chi Minh City to review the appeal and amend the first instance verdict to not allow Ms. Hong Nhung to receive 15% of the artist Vu Linh's estate.

On January 20, Ms. Hong Nhung also filed an appeal. In the appeal, Ms. Hong Nhung argued that the court of first instance's determination that Hong Loan was in the first line of inheritance and entitled to 85% of the inheritance value was incorrect.

The case is currently awaiting appeal.
