Quang Tri Party Secretary Le Quang Tung was elected as Secretary General of the National Assembly.

On the afternoon of November 28, the National Assembly passed a resolution to elect members of the National Assembly Standing Committee and Secretary General of the National Assembly with 453/454 delegates in favor (accounting for 94.57% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

According to this Resolution, Central Party Committee member, Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Tung, was elected as Standing Member of the National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Assembly.

Mr. Le Quang Tung was born in 1971, from Ha Tinh . He has a professional qualification as a Traffic Mechanical Engineer and is a member of the 13th Central Committee and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Tung is an official who has worked in many different ministries and branches. He used to be a specialist of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, a specialist and then Deputy Chief of Office and Secretary of the Minister of Planning and Investment.

After nearly 5 years as Director of the Department at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, he was transferred to the locality, holding the position of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province since early 2014.

After 4 years as a local leader, Mr. Tung held the position of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for 2 years, before being transferred to Quang Tri and holding the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee from mid-2020 to present.
