(Dan Tri) - Up to this point, the construction output of Than Vu tunnel has reached over 90%. Construction units are speeding up the progress to strive to bring the "critical path" item of Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway to the finish line 7 days ahead of schedule.
Than Vu Tunnel is part of the Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) expressway project, passing through Than Vu mountain, connecting Dien Phu (Dien Chau) and Nghi Dong (Nghi Loc, Nghe An) communes. This is considered one of the most difficult and complicated items of this important expressway project. Than Vu Tunnel is also identified as a "critical" item in the progress of the entire Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway. According to the request of the Ministry of Transport, by April 30, construction units must clear the route from the beginning (Dien Chau district) to the intersection of National Highway 46B, the section through Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district (Nghe An). To meet the set schedule, contractors are concentrating human and material resources in harsh hot weather conditions. Subcontractors work in the sun to install sliding formwork to pour concrete for the Than Vu tunnel. The Than Vu tunnel is designed to be permanent, with a reinforced concrete tunnel shell. On the morning of April 4, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Vo Son Hai, commander of Than Vu tunnel construction (Hoa Hiep Company Limited) said: "Up to this point, the construction unit is urgently implementing the construction of the last 90m of pouring concrete for the tunnel shell, equivalent to 8 blocks, 2 formwork pillars. The construction units are divided into 3 shifts, working day and night, determined to complete pouring concrete for the tunnel shell before April 12". The construction unit has completed the concrete pavement for half the road, from the north in. The concrete pavement layer is 28cm thick. "At this point, on average, we have paved more than 700m out of the total 1,131m length of the tunnel," Mr. Vo Son Hai added. According to the construction unit, the concrete paving of the road surface must be completed before April 23, ensuring technical factors and quality for vehicles to circulate on April 30. The construction units are working under difficult conditions but are determined to bring the critical section of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway to the finish line on schedule, completing the last piece of the North - South expressway section from Hanoi to Nghe An. Than Vu tunnel has an investment capital of 1,350 billion VND, constructed by Hoa Hiep Company Limited and Cienco4 Company Limited. This item is designed with a scale of 2 separate tunnels, each tunnel width is 13.78m, the distance between the 2 tunnel centers is 45m.
Subcontractors are speeding up the progress of the auxiliary items in front of the area north of the tunnel entrance. The outdoor temperature measured in this area in the first days of April was around 37-39 degrees Celsius, significantly affecting the progress of the project. In parallel with the construction, the electromechanical system, fire protection system and tunnel painting work are being accelerated. Up to this point, in terms of construction, Than Vu tunnel has reached over 90% of its output. In favorable weather conditions, this item will be completed ahead of the Ministry of Transport's deadline. Along with Than Vu tunnel, overpasses and flyovers are also identified as critical items of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway. In the photo is O O bridge, connecting Than Vu tunnel to the South, which has basically completed construction. According to the Ministry of Transport, the completion and putting into operation of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway project on schedule is of utmost importance in synchronously connecting the expressway from Hanoi to Ha Tinh, shortening travel time, reducing traffic pressure on National Highway 1, promoting socio-economic development of localities in particular and the whole country in general.
