Storm No. 7 Yinxing is still approaching the Hoang Sa archipelago with gusts of level 17, causing rough seas. It is forecasted that around November 10-11, the storm will enter the Quang Tri - Quang Ngai sea area and weaken into a tropical depression.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 4:00 a.m. this morning (November 9), the center of storm No. 7 Yinxing was located in the eastern sea of the North East Sea, about 480 km northeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 14 (150-166 km/h), gusting to level 17. Moving in the West Northwest direction, speed about 15 km/h.
In the next 24 to 48 hours, storm No. 7 will move in the West-Northwest direction, then turn to the Southwest at a speed of 10-15km/h. At this time, the strongest wind near the storm center will continuously decrease to level 13, 11 and then weaken into a tropical depression over the sea of Quang Tri - Quang Ngai.
Storm forecast (in the next 24 to 72 hours) :
From the next 72 to 96 hours, the tropical depression will move in the southwest direction, about 10km per hour, and its intensity will continue to weaken.
Yesterday afternoon (November 8), at a meeting between relevant ministries, branches and units to focus on measures to respond to storm No. 7, Mr. Mai Van Khiem, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that subtropical high pressure combined with cold air will "control" this storm from moving north.
Specifically, around today, storm No. 7 will maintain its strongest intensity, then gradually weaken due to the impact of cold air, dry air and low humidity.
According to Mr. Khiem, the direction of movement of storm No. 7 is controlled by environmental currents due to subtropical high pressure, so the storm will have difficulty moving north. When entering the North of Hoang Sa archipelago, the storm will change direction to West Southwest towards the Central Central Coast.
Due to the influence of the storm, the North East Sea area has strong winds of level 8-11, near the storm's eye level 12-14, gusts of level 17, waves 4-6m high, near the eye 7-9m, rough seas.
Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the effects of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
