On the morning of April 23, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee held the 115th thematic conference to give opinions on the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units of Dak Lak province and the plan to merge the two provinces of Dak Lak and Phu Yen. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Huynh Thi Chien Hoa; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung chaired the conference.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in the province. Currently, Dak Lak province has 180 commune-level administrative units, which are expected to be rearranged into 68 new units (including 7 wards and 61 communes), reducing 112 units (equivalent to 62.22%), in accordance with Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025 of the 11th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Specifically, Buon Ma Thuot City will have 5 wards: Buon Ma Thuot, Tan An, Tan Lap, Thanh Nhat, Ea Kao and Hoa Phu commune. Buon Ho Town will have Buon Ho ward, Cu Bao ward, Ea Drong commune. Ea Sup district has 5 communes: Ea Sup, Ea Rok, Ea Bung, Ia Rve, Ia Lop. Buon Don district has 3 communes: Ea Wer, Ea Nuol, Buon Don. Cu M'gar district has 6 communes: Ea Kiet, Quang Phu, Ea M'Droh, Cuor Dang, Cu M'gar and Ea Tul. Krong Buk has 3 communes: Pong Drang, Krong Buk, Cu Pong. Ea H'leo district will have 5 communes: Ea Khăl, Ea Drang, Ea Wy, Ea H'leo, Ea Hiao.

Along with that, Krong Nang district has 4 communes: Krong Nang, Dliêya, Tam Giang, Phu Xuan. Krong Pac district has 6 communes: Krong Pac, Ea Knuec, Tan Tien, Ea Phe, Ea Kly, Vu Bon. Ea Kar district has 5 communes: Ea Kar, Ea O, Ea Knop, Cu Yang, Ea Pal. M'Drak district has 6 communes: M'Drak, Ea Rieng, Cu M'ta, Krong A, Cu Prao, Ea Trang. Krong Bong district has 5 communes: Hoa Son, Dang Kang, Krong Bong, Yang Mao, Cu Pui. Lak district has 5 communes: Lien Son Lak, Dak Lieng, Nam Kar, Dak Phoi, Krong No. Cu Kuin district has 3 communes: Ea Ning, Dray Bhăng, Ea Ktur. Krong Ana district has 3 communes: Krong Ana, Dur Kmal, Ea Na.

Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha spoke at the conference.

The conference also spent time reviewing the Project to merge Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces. Accordingly, up to now, Dak Lak province has reviewed and developed a specific plan for budget and resource allocation to invest in repairing, renovating and upgrading offices and official residences used for the operation of administrative units after the reorganization; arranging means of transport for work and travel needs, or supporting travel expenses for cadres, civil servants and public employees from Phu Yen to work at the Dak Lak provincial headquarters.

According to the roadmap, the new commune-level apparatus will officially operate from August 15, 2025; the provincial-level apparatus will be operational no later than September 15, 2025. After that, the province will continue to review and arrange working headquarters and public assets in an effective manner, suitable to the actual situation.

Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung acknowledged and praised the serious preparation of the relevant agencies. At the same time, he emphasized that the arrangement of administrative units is a major policy of the Party and State to streamline the apparatus, improve operational efficiency and meet development requirements in the new period. The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee highly agreed with the submitted plan and requested the units to promptly complete the dossier and submit it to the competent authority for approval.
