On September 5, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province informed about the tourism activities in the province during the National Day holiday on September 2.

Accordingly, during the 4-day holiday this year, the security and order situation was relatively stable, the number of visitors was quite large compared to the same period in 2022, districts, towns and cities in the province prepared events and forces to thoughtfully welcome visitors to visit and relax at tourist areas and beaches.

According to statistics from the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the total number of visitors visiting and swimming in the beach during the 4-day holiday in the area was about 535 thousand, an increase of 36.49% over the same period in 2022. Of which, 111,538 were overnight guests, and 22,798 were international guests, both of which increased compared to the same period in 2022.

Total revenue from tourism business activities reached nearly 300 billion VND, an increase of 29.45% over the same period in 2022, of which accommodation revenue was more than 111 billion VND.

The room occupancy rate in the whole province for 4 days is about 80-85%, of which on the 1st day is only about 50% due to the small number of visitors to the province. On the 2nd and 3rd of September, the room occupancy rate is up to 90%. Of which, Vung Tau City continues to lead in revenue, with about 102 billion VND.

Mr. Trinh Hang, Director of the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, added that in order to serve tourists visiting and having fun during the September 2 holiday, the tourism industry and localities in the province have actively collected waste in public areas and directed inspection teams to strengthen food safety and hygiene at restaurants serving tourists.

Therefore, food hygiene and safety is ensured, there are no cases of poisoning, water and waste in and around the business area are treated, and the environment is clean and beautiful.

Meanwhile, the Management Boards of tourist areas in districts and cities have regularly inspected and urged the maintenance of environmental hygiene at tourist areas and spots, ensuring environmental hygiene and safety, clean and airy beaches. Security and order during the holidays were ensured, with no drowning cases occurring.

On this year's occasion, localities in the province have also organized many large-scale events, attracting a large number of tourists to participate, such as: in Vung Tau city, there is Vung Tau BeerFest, super sea festival Let's Charm Fest 2023 - Be Shining at Ho Tram, Xuyen Moc district, Buffet party to welcome September 2nd holiday at Oceanami, Dat Do district... Besides, accommodation establishments in the province also opened attractive promotional services to welcome tourists to relax and visit.

Vung Tau City Tourist Management and Support Center directly supported 83 Vietnamese tourists, providing information about tourist attractions, cuisine, and hotel services in the area.

Mr. Pham Khac To, Director of the Vung Tau City Tourist Management and Support Center, said that on this occasion, the unit received information, supported and returned 28 lost children to their families safely, promptly rescued 4 tourists who were swept away by the waves and brought them safely to shore.
