On the afternoon of June 25, after the election results of Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai to hold the position of member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed and issued a Resolution on the appointment of the position of Head of the National Assembly Delegation Work Committee under the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee appointed Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, member of the 15th National Assembly Standing Committee, to hold the position of Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee.

Previously, on June 6, the National Assembly elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee, to hold the position of Vice Chairwoman of the 15th National Assembly.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was born in 1970; her hometown is Hanoi. She is Associate Professor, Doctor of Physics; Member of the Party Central Committee, 12th and 13th terms; National Assembly Delegate, 13th, 14th and 15th terms.

Having worked in the education sector, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was the youngest female Associate Professor in Vietnam in 2007 and spent time working at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

She has held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Vietnam Youth Academy; Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office; Head of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children; Head of the Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

On May 23, 2020, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.

In October 2020, she was re-elected as Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term until now.

“I am very happy when someone calls me 'the female secretary of digital transformation' and when people in the province have begun to like 'digital transformation' as well as recognize the benefits that digital transformation brings."

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai was elected as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

With 449/450 delegates in favor, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution to elect Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hai, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, as a member of the National Assembly Standing Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
