The latest model comes with 16GB of RAM by default, marking a new standard across Apple's lineup.

The base M4 starts at $599, while the more powerful M4 Pro starts at $1,399.

Apple has accepted pre-orders and will officially put the product on shelves on November 8.

The Mini M4's most striking feature is its ultra-compact design, measuring just 5 inches in length and width - significantly smaller than its predecessor.

Apple said the device has the ability to cool effectively thanks to a new heat dissipation structure on the M4 chip, which helps direct air flow to different parts and is released through a ventilation system at the base of the device.

In terms of ports, the machine has also been upgraded with two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm audio jack on the front, while the rear has Ethernet, HDMI, and three USB-C/Thunderbolt ports. Notably, the USB-A ports have been removed, but Apple has compensated by adding a Thunderbolt port, bringing the total number of ports to five.

The speed of these ports depends on the M4 chip version: the standard version comes with Thunderbolt 4, while the M4 Pro supports Thunderbolt 5 with higher speeds.

The M4 Pro version delivers powerful performance with 14 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores.

Users can configure up to 32GB of RAM with the regular M4 or 64GB with the M4 Pro, and storage can reach a maximum of 8TB.

Additionally, users can also opt for 10 gigabit Ethernet, providing flexibility for professional and creative users who need a powerful device in a compact size.

The launch follows the introduction of the M4-powered iMac this past week, along with the first rollout of “Apple Intelligence” features across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, with more AI integrations expected in December.

Rumors have it that Apple will announce 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with higher-performance M4 Pro and M4 Max chips in the near future.
