It is known that no notable new features were found in the first two betas of iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6. Therefore, it is possible that iOS/iPadOS 18.6 is just an update focused on fixing outstanding bugs and improving the performance of older devices.
Developers can now download iOS 18.6 beta 3 and iPadOS 18.6 beta 3 from the Settings app on compatible devices by going to General > Software Update.
There have also been rumors that Apple wanted to expand its AI features to China with iOS 18.6, but regulatory hurdles have delayed the launch. This is expected to be a major release of iOS 18 as the “Apple” is also focusing on developing new features for iOS 26 to be released to users later this year.
