Tropical depression will change direction and enter the waters of Truong Sa archipelago

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a low pressure area in the southern sea of ​​the South China Sea strengthened into a tropical depression on the morning of December 21.

At 10:00 a.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 5.0 degrees North latitude; 112.3 degrees East longitude, in the southern sea of ​​the South China Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8; the tropical depression barely moved.

At 10:00 a.m. on December 22, the tropical depression moved northeast, gusting at level 6 and level 8 in the southern waters of the South China Sea.

The tropical depression then continued to move northeast, then northwest and at 10:00 a.m. on December 23, the tropical depression was at level 7, gusting to level 9, in the sea south of Truong Sa archipelago, according to the hydrometeorological agency.

From the next 48 to 72 hours, the tropical depression moves northwest, traveling 10-15km per hour.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the southern sea area of ​​the South East Sea has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8, waves 3-5m high; rough seas. From the night of December 22, the southern sea area of ​​Truong Sa archipelago has strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9, waves 4-6m high; rough seas.

Ships operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
