On the morning of August 11, Meo Vac District General Hospital ( Ha Giang province) said that due to severe developments, the unit had transferred 2 patients with mushroom poisoning to a higher level for treatment.

Specifically, the identities of the two patients are Mr. CVT (49 years old) and his daughter CTH (18 years old), residing in Niem Son commune, Meo Vac district. Before that, at around 11:30 am on August 10, the father and daughter ate chicken soup cooked with wild mushrooms picked from the forest.

About two hours after eating, both had signs of stomach pain, loose stools, nausea and were taken to the Niem Son Commune Regional General Clinic for emergency treatment, then transferred to Meo Vac District General Hospital.

After examination, the two patients were diagnosed with mushroom poisoning. Doctors performed gastric lavage, diuretic and laxative infusions, and activated charcoal to detoxify the patients. By the evening of the same day, the two patients were transferred to a provincial hospital.

Notably, recently, in Ha Giang province, there have been consecutive cases of food poisoning due to eating plants and flowers picked in the forest.

Previously, on July 31 and August 1, Dong Van District General Hospital (Ha Giang) also received 11 children aged 3 to 12 who were poisoned by eating Hong Chau fruit picked in the forest.

Most recently, on August 8, 8 people with the same address in Trung Thinh commune (Xin Man district, Ha Giang province) were working in Chi Ca commune, Xin Man district, ate stir-fried bellflowers with eggs and had to be hospitalized due to poisoning.

Due to recent cases of poisoning caused by eating wild plants and fruits, local authorities here are stepping up propaganda, advising people not to eat wild plants, flowers, and fruits of unknown origin.
