Alonso confirms Rodrygo's future

Alonso did not cross out Rodrygo.

Rodrygo and Mastantuono both started in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Oviedo in the second round of La Liga early on August 25. However, both failed to leave much of an impression and were substituted in the second half.

Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show with two goals. The other goal came from Vinicius Junior.

After the match, Alonso confirmed that both Rodrygo and Mastantuono will be important players this season. The former Leverkusen coach said: "Rodrygo had a good match. He coordinated well with Carreras, Arda Guler and Mbappe. Rodrygo is still a player in the current Real squad. Mastantuono will bring us a lot of energy, his connection with the team is very good."

Despite Alonso securing his place at the Bernabeu, Rodrygo's future remains a big question mark. According to Marca , Real are not actively selling Rodrygo, but are willing to listen to offers from the Premier League before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Rodrygo's price tag could be more than 80 million euros. Sources claim that Liverpool or Man City could be potential destinations for this player.

Rodrygo has kept a low profile and has not publicly announced his intention to leave the Bernabeu. But he wants to play more to maintain his form and compete for a place at the 2026 World Cup.
