On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on the morning of April 29, the delegation of the Party Central Committee, the President, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front laid wreaths, visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Monument to the Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.
Attending the ceremony were Politburo members: General Secretary To Lam; President Luong Cuong; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, former Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, along with Politburo members, Party Central Committee Secretaries, Vice Presidents of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, Party and State leaders, and leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations attended the funeral.

50 years ago, April 30, 1975 entered the history of the nation as a brilliant milestone. The history of the country forever remembers the moment at 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975 when the revolutionary flag flew on the roof of the Independence Palace - the last stronghold of the Saigon government.
The 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, came to victory. From here, the South was completely liberated, and Vietnam was unified.
The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification is an opportunity to review the heroic history of the nation, look back on the journey of fighting, building and developing the country, and at the same time gain a deeper understanding of the values and lessons learned from practical struggles to add strength and determination to build and firmly defend the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, bringing the country into a new era - the era of national growth.
Next, the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Heroic Martyrs Memorial on Bac Son Street.
In a solemn atmosphere, the Party and State leaders expressed their gratitude to the nation's outstanding sons who fought bravely and sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people. The wreath of the delegation bore the inscription: "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs."
On the same morning, delegations from the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense; Central Public Security Party Committee - Ministry of Public Security; Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee... came to lay wreaths, visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and commemorate heroic martyrs./.
