On September 4, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province signed and issued decisions recognizing 3 communes in the area as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards include Dien Loc, Phong An (Phong Dien district) and Quang Tho (Quang Dien district).

After reviewing 19 criteria of the set of criteria for building advanced new rural communes, up to now, Dien Loc, Phong An and Quang Tho communes have met 19/19 criteria (100%). These communes have no basic outstanding debts in building new rural areas, and no complicated security and order issues according to regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.

The material and spiritual life of the people in the communes has gradually improved, the average income per capita has increased, and the poverty rate has decreased. The rural infrastructure system in the communes has been completed and upgraded, forming many green - clean - bright - beautiful roads; schools, cultural institutions, irrigation systems, clean water, etc. have been invested synchronously.

Thus, up to now, Thua Thien Hue province has had 5 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards. Thua Thien Hue aims to have at least 10 communes meeting advanced new rural standards by the end of 2024.
