On the morning of the 3rd day of Tet, Ms. Tran Ngoc Lanh (Hanoi) went to Big C supermarket to buy more food for her family.

After more than 30 minutes of shopping, Ms. Lanh went to the counter to pay with all kinds of vegetables for hot pot. Ms. Lanh commented that the vegetable prices at the supermarket were still stable, very different from those at the market.

"I live in an apartment building near Hoang Dao Thuy. This morning, I went to the market near my house. A bunch of chrysanthemum greens costs 7,000 VND, a bunch costs 9,000 VND, depending on the quality of the greens. Not to mention lettuce costs 7,000 VND/100 grams, if you buy 30 grams, it costs 20,000 VND and you still have to fight over it" - Ms. Lanh compared.

On the morning of the 3rd, Big C Thang Long supermarket welcomed a large number of customers. According to a supermarket cashier, customers mainly came to buy vegetables, meat and other frozen foods. In addition, items such as Tet candy and fruit were slow to move.

Unlike Big C supermarket, some small supermarkets near residential areas are short of goods, because they have just opened or can only import small quantities.

Surveying vegetable prices at the market, pork, shrimp and fish prices remain the same as usual.

However, some vegetables are priced 2-3 times higher than usual. Even water spinach, which costs 15,000 VND a bunch, is hard to buy because it sells out quickly.

A vendor at Phung Khoang market shared: "On the third day of Tet, many people reopened their stalls. Vegetable prices are expensive, but not all. For example, tomatoes are still priced at 12,000 VND/kg."

According to this trader, the price of some vegetables is expensive because of high demand from people, and because it is the Lunar New Year holiday, the supply is lower than usual.
