People's Artist Xuan Bac, Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater, has just been appointed as Director of the Department of Performing Arts. Many audiences, colleagues and friends have congratulated People's Artist Xuan Bac on his new role.

Having passed 4 universities, choosing art because he wanted to be famous People's Artist Xuan Bac's path to art is quite special. In the program Cuoc Hen Cuoi Tuan, Xuan Bac revealed that he came to acting because of luck and wanted to be famous. "My family has 5 siblings, 4 boys and 1 girl. 4 of them do not follow art, but I follow this path because of luck. It seems like the profession chose me" , Xuan Bac confided. At the age of 18, he applied to 4 universities and initially received news that he had passed 3 schools. He chose Hanoi University of Culture and fully prepared for admission. However, on the morning of his departure, his neighbor told him that he had received an additional admission notice from the University of Theater and Cinema.

"Until now, I still have to thank my father. He is the one who gave guidance to all of my siblings. My father said - You can go to any school, you can learn any profession, but you have to be good. You are the one who makes you who you are" - he said - "At that time, being a film actor was still a high-class and difficult profession. I said - I want to be famous. My parents said - Yes! It's up to you" - Xuan Bac recounted the reason for coming to acting. In 1998, after graduating from the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema, he worked at the Vietnam Drama Theater. Here, he and the artists of the Theater created many good plays, close to current events, with humanistic meaning. In September 2016, Xuan Bac was appointed Deputy Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater. In January 2021, he was appointed Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater. During his career, People's Artist Xuan Bac participated in many films such as: Dong Loc Intersection, Moc's House Story, Rustling Countryside... Among them, the role of Nui in the film Song o day song helped his name be recognized by the public and experts. People's Artist Xuan Bac once shared that this role did not belong to him at first. By chance, enthusiastically helping his senior, Xuan Bac was introduced to the director to audition. "When I held the script of the film, I sat reading from 10am to 3pm, after 6 episodes, Uncle Tien took me to introduce to everyone that this was the character Nui, replacing the person who was initially chosen...", he said. After that, Xuan Bac successfully made his mark with this role. "Anh Nui" is an important milestone in his artistic journey.

After the movie Con duong sang , in 2007, Xuan Bac temporarily stopped his acting career and switched to MC. With his natural charm and ability to improvise on stage, Xuan Bac became a popular MC, leading many programs loved by audiences such as: Hoi xoi dap quay, Duoi hinh cap chu, On gioi cau day roi, Vua tieng Viet,... The male artist also participated in many TV programs such as: Gap nhau cuoi nam, Gala cuoi, Thu thuy cuoi tuan, Bo oi minh di dau the... Not only that, he was also invited by many units to be a judge for the programs: SV 2016, SV 2000, Guong mat than quen nhi... Xuan Bac's mark in the hearts of TV audiences is not only the role of Nui cua Song o day song but also the character Nam Tao in Tao Quan of VTV. Xuan Bac's charming, witty and flexible acting has created the image of Nam Tao that is both humorous, profound but still very close and rustic. Being obedient is for your family but for society you have to be a good citizen" , Xuan Bac sent a message to his son Bi Beo in the show Cuoc Hen Cuat Tuan.
