Surpassing many 'big guys', Phu Quoc wins the award for world's leading island destination

Phu Quoc Island was honored for the second time as "World's Leading Natural Island Destination" at the World Travel Awards 2023 recently held in the United Arab Emirates.
Phu Quoc surpassed famous island candidates such as Antigua and Barbuda, Dominican Republic, Skye Island (Scotland), Lofoten Islands (Norway), Reunion Island, Zanzibar Islands (Tanzania) to win this year's award.

Phu Quoc has 22 large and small islands with a total area of 573 km2 , making it the largest island in Vietnam. In 2021, Phu Quoc became the first island city in Vietnam. The island has a temperate climate, warm sunshine all year round, rolling hills and mountains with cool primeval forests and diverse beaches, fine white sand, clear blue water and pristine beauty... In which, Phu Quoc National Park, Phu Quoc Marine Reserve accounts for more than 2/3 of the natural area and is the core area of Kien Giang World Biosphere Reserve. The World Travel Awards 2023 also honored Vietnam as "The World's Leading Heritage Destination 2023". This is the 4th time Vietnam has received this prestigious award after 3 previous times in 2019, 2020 and 2022. Hanoi is honored to receive the title "The World's Leading City Destination 2023"; Moc Chau was honored as "World's Leading Local Natural Destination"; Ha Nam won the award for "World's Leading Local Cultural Destination"; Tam Dao won the title of "World's Leading Town Destination". In addition, Vietnamese travel agencies and tourism companies also won awards such as Vietravel receiving the award for "World's Leading Tour Operator" for the 7th consecutive time since 2017; Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area in Lao Cai received the "double" award for "World's Leading Cultural Tourist Area" and "World's Leading Natural Landscape Tourist Area 2023"...
