Low pressure area may strengthen into tropical depression

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area will move in a West-Northwest direction into the East Sea and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression, continuing to strengthen into a storm moving rapidly towards the Gulf of Tonkin in the next 1-2 days.

To proactively respond, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to An Giang: Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of low pressure areas; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and adjust production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur. Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when situations arise.

Monitor natural disaster developments, review and prepare response plans for heavy rain and flash floods.
