(Construction) – On the evening of June 29, the fourth competition night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2024 will be a dramatic competition between the new Chinese team and the Finnish team – the former DIFF 2019 champion. This “battle” attracts great attention from domestic and foreign tourists.

The fourth competition night of DIFF 2024 with the theme “Made of Fairy Tales – The World of Fairy Tales” is expected to attract tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to the coastal city of Da Nang. The special interest from tourists has caused the number of air tickets to Da Nang to increase sharply. It is estimated that on the day of DIFF 29/6/2024, there will be about 151 flights to Da Nang, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2023. During the DIFF 2024 fireworks season, the number of international flights to Da Nang in June also increased to 51 flights/day, a remarkable number compared to last year.

With an investment of hundreds of billions of VND and the efforts of nearly 2,000 employees from all units, departments and agencies of Da Nang city and Sun Group Corporation, DIFF 2024 has reached the final night of the qualifying round, becoming the largest festival in the coastal city this summer.

The most anticipated night of the qualifying round

The 4th competition night is considered the most dramatic competition in this year's DIFF season due to the presence of China - a famous fireworks empire with equipment used by many professional fireworks display companies in the world.

Representing the Chinese team is Liuyang Jingduan New-art Display, a company from Liuyang Province, which has a long tradition in the world’s fireworks industry. With decades of experience and talent, the team promises to bring a unique performance, combining traditional fireworks art with modern creativity. The performance “Summer Song – Fireworks Painted with Embroidery” is built on music and light, recreating beautiful landscapes and unique Chinese culture, promising to captivate people.

Confident ahead of the show, the Chinese team shared that the Liuyang Jingduan New-art Display design team consists of talented technical experts who are constantly innovating to achieve new heights in visual arts. One of the team’s strengths is high-altitude fireworks, so visitors to the “Fairyland” night can expect truly eye-catching fireworks: “We have designed a wonderful program and used high-quality fireworks effects, to make the performance on June 26th special and highlight the charm of fireworks.”

Meanwhile, many people are especially excited about the return of Finland - a veteran with creativity and extremely unique rock music taste.

Team Finland, represented by JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks – one of the most successful companies in the Nordic region, has won many prestigious international fireworks competitions in Finland, Poland, France and DIFF 2019. Coming to DIFF this year, Team Finland will bring the performance “A Million Dreams”, a magical story about challenges and ambitions. The team promises to combine the colors of fireworks with water effects, creating a magical space in the sky of Da Nang.

Johan Hollander, the captain of the Finnish team, said it would be “the most amazing show the team has ever put on in Asia”. The fireworks display would be a synchronisation of light and music, effects and emotions. “Designing a show like this is like conducting an orchestra,” he added. “You need a full range of instruments, from the smallest triangle drum to the biggest bass drum. And the most important thing is that all the instruments play the same song. And the music and the fireworks together create magical emotions.”

The competition night of June 29 is also the last night for the jury to select the two best teams to enter the final round of DIFF 2024. Musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, member of the DIFF 2024 Jury, shared: “I have special expectations for the next competition night. First, the theme is very good. Second, both teams are very strong. Especially the Chinese team with a very long tradition of fireworks. It is really impossible to know what surprises they will bring in the upcoming fireworks display. Hopefully the 4th night will be an explosive night of the Fairy World.”

Fairy art night on the poetic Han River

The 1,260 m2 hand-shaped stage located along the poetic Han River is a highlight contributing to the success and attraction of DIFF 2024. In the 4th competition night of DIFF 2024, there will not only be a brilliant fireworks display but also vibrant art performances, attracting the audience into the space of "Fairy World" with diverse content and art.

Opening with the melodious tunes of “Come Listen to My Lullaby” and the pride of “Chinese Dance”, the art program will continue with the passion of “Beauty and the Beast” and the romance of “Nobody Else But You”.

Each performance not only showcases the artistic talents of hundreds of domestic and international artists, but also bears the distinctive cultural imprint of each country, promising to create an exciting and uplifting atmosphere for the audience.

The competition night will be broadcast live on Da Nang Radio and Television and 19 other local television stations. After the final round between China and Finland, the final night will take place on July 13 with the name “Made of Young Generation – Future Pulse”, promising to explode the summer of the city on the Han River.
